If no zones are shown on the map, you can park and end your ride as usual without any additional restrictions, provided the vehicle is parked legally, safely, and with consideration for other road users.
However, there are several different types of zones that may appear on the map. These zones affect where you can ride, park, pause, or end your ride. The available zone types are:
Slow zone - (Yellow / Orange)
Vehicles are slowed down in the area.
No-park zone - (White)
No ending of rides in the area
No-go zones - (Red)
No driving or ending of rides in the area.
Discount zone - (Green)
Discount for ending the ride there.
Out of bounds - (Blue)
Leaving the zone can end the ride automatically.
Parking Islands
Parking zone with a Drop-off fee (dashed outline)
Parking zone with a small drop off fee (mainly for cars)
Parking stations - Red P
Users must park there.
Hopp spot - Blue %
Users are encouraged to park there and get a discount for parking there.
Learn More About the Different Zones
Slow zone (Yellow / Orange zone)
The yellow slow zones slow down scooters when they enter the area. Most slow zones slow the scooter down to 15km/h (9mph), but they can sometimes go as low as 6km/h.
The scooter should regain normal speed once it leaves the slow zone.
Places where slow zones might be added:
School zones
Pedestrian streets
Sidewalks with high foot traffic
Please note: Slow zones are for scooters only. Car sharing has no slow zones.

No Park zone (White zone)
No park zones are the white zones inside the operating zone. You can ride through the no-park zone but can't end the ride in the zone.
If a vehicle in a ride is left in a no-park zone, the ride might end due to inactivity, and the rider might incur a parking penalty.
A parking penalty might be incurred if vehicles run out of battery in a no-park zone.
Places where no-park zones might be found:
Schools
Parking garages
Private properties
Highway intersections
No-go zone (Red)
When a scooter enters a no-go zone the top speed is reduced to 5-8km/h and ending the ride is forbidden. Leaving the scooter with an ongoing ride will end the ride due to inactivity and a penalty will be charged.
No-go zones can be found in the following areas:
School grounds
Cemetaries
No trespassing areas.
Discount zone (Green zone)
Ending a ride in a discount zone gives a flat discount for the ride.
The discount is displayed on the receipt in your trip history and by pressing the zone on the map.
Out of bounds (blue area at the edge of the zone)
The out-of-bounds area is the big blue field that encircles the operating zone.
Some service areas allow users to leave the operating zone freely (i.e., car sharing), but ending the ride will incur a parking penalty.
Other zones (i.e., Reykjavik in Iceland) automatically end rides once they leave the operating zone.
Parking Islands
In some areas, Hopp offers Parking Islands—designated parking areas located outside the main operating zone.
Parking Islands allow you to end your trip in rural areas without extending the operating zone to cover the entire region. This helps keep vehicles gathered in convenient locations, making them easier to find for other users.
To locate a Parking Island, zoom in on the map in the app, as these areas may only be visible at closer zoom levels.
Parking zone with a Drop-off fee (dashed outline)
Some parking zones have a dashed outline. Ending your ride in these zones incurs a small drop-off fee.
Tap a parking zone on the map to see the applicable fee before ending your ride.
Parking stations (red parking spots)
Some Hopp locations have parking stations. Customers must park their scooters in parking stations to be able to end their rides.
Hopp Spots (blue %)
Find the blue % indicators on the map. Customers are encouraged to park there, as these are recommended parking locations where users can receive a discount.
The discount may vary between Hopp Spots, and users can click on the % icon to see the specific discount available at each location.
