If you don't see the option to add a driving license in the app, they aren't available in your location.
You must have a valid and verified driving license to drive Hopp cars. The license must be added, registered, and approved in the Hopp app.
Approval of driving license is automatic and usually takes only a few minutes. In case of some technical problems, manual verification might be needed.
Contact customer support through the app if your driving license didn't get approved automatically.
Adding a driving license
From settings
Open the Hopp app and go to Menu → Settings → Edit personal information.
There, you should find a blue Add button. Press it to start the process of verifying your driving license.
From map
Select cars in the top right corner.
Find a car on the map and reserve it. You will be prompted to add your driving license before continuing with the rental.
You can also scan the QR code of a car directly to trigger the driving license.
Note that the car is not reserved while you add your driving license.
Process
The verification process is powered by a third-party verification service called Jumio.
Pictures of driving license
First, you are asked to take pictures of the front and back of your driving license.
The screen takes the photos automatically if you hover the camera on your phone above the license at the right distance.
Make sure there is enough light and that the license looks clear.
If the images appear blurry, you can try flipping the camera to the front and then flipping it back to the rear camera.
Selfie
After you have successfully taken the photos of your license then you move on to taking a selfie of yourself to verify that it is you on the driving license.
The screen will guide you through what is needed. When it is done correctly, a green circle will appear around the oval face hole.
If the photo isn't taken automatically, you will be asked to take a photo manually. This will be done in the app, so don't exit the app.
Verifying license
After you have gone through the process of adding the license the system will automatically approve or reject the license.
You can also go into the settings to check up on the status of your license approval.
Approved successfully
In most cases, if everything is done correctly, the license will be approved quickly and automatically.
Now you can rent a Hopp car and start driving.
Approval Declines
If, for some reason, your license was not approved, you should try adding it again.
